These filters offer users the convenience of swiftly sifting through unread messages, instantly finding personal chats, or promptly accessing business discussions. By relocating the filter button to the chat list, WhatsApp aims to enhance the app's usability and streamline navigation.
At present, the filter feature appears to be limited to one-on-one personal chats. However, considering the significant number of users who utilize WhatsApp for group interactions, it would be highly beneficial to introduce a dedicated filter for group chats. While plans to expand filters to groups remain uncertain, it is a potential avenue for future development.
