The Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle announced the partnership during a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast and explained what attracted him to join Kanye’s budding sports empire.

“It was an opportunity that came to us, me and [my wife], and it made sense,” he said, announcing the deal with Donda Sports. Hearing the whole spectrum of what they were going to be bringing, the whole family atmosphere that they got in Donda Sports. Not just me, but my wife being a part of that. For me it was a no-brainer,”  he added.

Aaron Donald said signing with the new Kanye West venture aligns with his goals to transcend the football field.

“My wife actually does my marketing. It was an opportunity that came to us and it made sense,” he told podcast hosts Brandon Marshall, Adam “Pacman” Jones and LeSean McCoy. “Hearing the whole spectrum of everything that they was gonna be bringing, the family atmosphere that they got at Donda Sports … for me, it was a no-brainer.”

When asked if he has plans to release a cleat with Kanye, he hinted at a possible collab. “Ain’t nothing in a full circle, but we’ve been talking. We got a lot of different things that are planned,” he teased.

The pair have been hanging out, and Kanye West even asked the sporting superstar to appear in a music video. “But I was like, ‘Naw.,’” he revealed. “I was out of my element. But he was cool,” Aaron added.

We know that la rams coach Sean McVay is fully appraised of the situation, is in contact with Aaron Donald, and McVay knows just how important it is for the team to get AD back on the la rams stadium.

So now we know that we have one of the faces of the NFL, Aaron Donald, and his wife Erica Donald, signing aboard the new Donda Sports.

How extensively will Donda Sports represent Aaron Donald? While that remains to be determined, the terrain could cover a host of areas including apparel, endorsements, sports representation, publicist, and more.

So what does this mean for the la rams news? We don’t know, but Donda Sports clearly has the wherewithal to offer life after the NFL. Aaron Donald clearly has one eye on the life-after-football chapter now.

A sports-centric off-shoot of Kanye West’s multibillion-dollar empire, Donda Sports was launched in January with NFL pro-turned-rapper Antonio Brown as president. In addition to signing the Aaron Donald contract, the company’s hot start has spawned a SLAM magazine cover, a small line of athletics gear, and $4 billion ambitions to buy the Denver Broncos because of Aaron Donald stats.

“Donda Sports was founded with the vision of providing holistic support to athletes during and beyond their sports career,” a press release from the company read. “Donda Sports is a limitless organization centered on professional and wellness support in equal measure with the ambition to work with athletes across all genders, divisions, and sports.”

“Donda Sports is something close to him, obviously, with his mother and everything. So he definitely wants this to be something that’s top tier and something he’s serious about.”
