Davido getting ready to enter the studio with Koffee after being praised by a Grammy-winning dancehall star.
In the second episode of 1Xtra’s Influence with Koffee, the Grammy Award-winning singer highlighted her love for afroat music and shared her passion for Nigerian superstar Davido.
The show serves as a show of impact for the artist to gain a better understanding of their musical appreciation.
According to 1Xtra, the show aims to help fans "Know the artist's music DNA and their influence, from their own point of view." In his one-hour stint, he played some of Davido's best hits and also explained why he believed the veteran was a perfect artist.
The "Toast" singer explained that he was fascinated by his voice from the first time he was introduced.
"Since hearing him for the first time, I love him. I love the way he presents his work," he continued. The set featured some of his most popular songs, including "Risky" featuring Popcaan, "Fall", "Activate" featuring StoneBwoy, and "Assurance."
He went on to say that Davido is not only an artist but a complete package as he is also a musician as well. Koffee added that he believed he was different because he not only sat down and wrote poetry but took the time to make sure his editions were presented the way he wanted.
"I like his way of expressing myself and I think he is consistent. He also tries very hard not to end up in the same kind of sound," he added.Fans are eagerly awaiting his next album, which many believe will be named after his newest song, "West Indies". The album is expected in 2022 via Columbia Records. There have been rumors that he may also feature afrobeat music on the album since he appeared with Burna Boy in February.
Meanwhile, Davido has since responded to receiving praise from Koffee, saying he is ready for a partnership with the Grammy-winning Reggae star.
"[Koffee] let's get in the lab sis," Davido shared in his IG Story with two heart emojis.
