Bounty Killer Says ‘King Of Kingston’ The Album Is Not Made To Compete With Other Artists

A few weeks before the release of ‘King Of Kingston’, popular Dancehall artist Bounty Killer states that the album is not intended to compete with anyone, be it young artists or people his age.


"This album is not about competing with young people or anyone. It's more of a guide for someone who doesn't fully understand the roots of dancehall culture… 18 years ago I released my last album and then launched Alliance to run a dancehall, I never needed hype," Bounty said. he said, referring to Ghetto Dictionary, his latest album, which was released by VP Records in 2002.

In addition, the Seaview Gardens native, appearing to reflect on the poor sales of albums that have been plaguing Jamaican Dancehall artists, pointed out that many people who criticize the quality of the songs produced, do not spend their money on music.


"I hope you will be grateful when it comes, because a lot of people ppl today complain and comment on music but they don't buy it," he complained.


Bounty made the remarks on his Instagram page on Sunday.
He had also announced that some of the most famous Dancehall and Reggae artists, as well as several Hip Hop heroes will be featured on the album, among them.Barrington Levy, Sanchez, Chronixx, Bling Dawg, Busy Signal and Wayne Marshall; Vybz Kartel, “possibly” Mavado, Richie Stephens, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg.
