Selah Marley Introduces Her First EP, 'Star Power'

Selah Marley, the daughter of singer-songwriter Lauryn Hill and grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley, is following in the footsteps of his family. The 22-year-old recently released her first EP, Star Power, and a four-song alternative project featuring Afro-futuristic emotions.

It describes how he grasped his own identity and pursued the topics of escape, rebellion, awareness, and self-defense, as Selah himself put it. VOGUE describes the project as “A personal commitment in which you are talking about growing up in the shadow of fame, emphasizing ownership of your body in a men-centered society, and the ability to regain your identity, reflects Marley's experience with. a unique opportunity to become famous from birth. ”

For his first song, “24HRS,” the image is a real-life vlog style video, which pays homage to the old video game, Super Mario Bros. Selah also releases original YouTuber video kain Carter aka hotdamnirock, "Brotherly Love." The viral situation collected about 6 million views over the past decade with information about "unknown" stories even though they are fictional video games. "Sly" highlights his brother YG Marley, but the image was a family affair. With words and expressions from his father, Rohan Marley, and family members (Eden, Hymn, and John), the deep confession was lovingly called "Making It With the Marleys." However, similar to "24HRS," it was also a major figure in the events of his life.
Regarding the release of the EP, Selah explained, “the whole process has been a collaborative process between the world and myself; my community and myself; God and myself. I think there have been small calls that light up the light in this particular way — if that makes sense. I realized that there is no better time than now. Star Power is now flowing everywhere.
