The land of Egypt is open two pyramids for the first time since 1965 after completing the renovation process to be used for tourism activities.
The pyramids are located about 40 miles [40 km] south of Cairo, where the launch was attended by government officials and foreign diplomats.
Speaking at the opening, the Minister of Antiquities, Khaled al-Anani, said that one of the pyramids was the bent pharaoh of Pharaoh Snerefu and the second was the so-called first pyramid at Dahshur Necropolis in Giza.
The 101-foot-tall [pyramid] pyramid is a model of the first pyramids built in Egypt, built by Pharaoh Snerefu, the founder of the fourth generation of the Egyptian dynasty during the 2600 years before Christ.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday (July 13, 2019), Al-Anani said the pyramids were collectively listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as the oldest buildings and monuments in Memphis.
He also said that archaeologists have discovered the existence of a collection of stones, clay and wood raw materials at the Dahshur Necropolis pyramid in Giza.
Other items found include head covering and cutting stones, which, according to the Chairman of the General Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, will continue with the excavation work to identify other items in August this year.
Egypt hopes that the discovery will stimulate the growth of the tourism industry which is largely driven by archeological resources that were badly damaged during the 2011 political unrest.
